HEALTH CARE MINISTERS:
The Health Care ministry assists the Mass by providing medical assistance/assessment to those gathered during the Sacred Liturgy. Here is a message from one of our Health Care Ministers:
Did you know that there is a secret ministry at St. Tim’s? Most individuals do not know of it until they need it! My name is Melani Jaskowiak, and I am in the Health Care Ministry (HCM)! Prior to the pandemic we had medical personnel at every Mass including holidays. Things have changed and we are seeking more volunteers. The role of the HCM is to be available to anyone who is experiencing a health care need during Mass. There is a medical bag available and there is also an AED available.
Medical personnel say, “oh I can’t do that”. Yes, you can! It comes down to the basics A-airway, B-breathing, C-circulation and then determine the person’s medical needs. I am a pediatric nurse practitioner and I attend a Mass that probably has a larger majority of older friends. In 20 years I probably have been needed 15-20 times.
Please consider volunteering for this ministry! If you have questions please speak to Chris or Lauren, or I can be reached at [email protected]
