Liturgical Ministers are lay people who volunteer to assist the Ordinary Ministers (priests and deacons) with various tasks associated with the Holy Mass. For all questions concerning qualifications and duties for each liturgical ministry, please contact the Liturgy staff.
To serve in liturgical ministries, you must be current on Safe Environment training, be a registered parishioner, have received your Sacraments, and be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church. If you have any questions about how to complete these qualifications, please reach out to the Liturgy staff for assistance.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER:
The role of an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EM) is to assist the priest and deacon, the Ordinary Ministers, with the distribution of Holy Communion. EMs are not scheduled or assigned to a specific Mass time, and may serve at any Mass they are available and properly disposed.
To serve as an EM, you must be a registered parishioner for at least one year or have previous experience as an EM, and be at least 18 years old. Trainings are held about once every three months. Please contact Emily Robles for more information.
LECTOR:
The ministry of lectoring "calls us to be servants of the Living Word of God. In proclaiming the readings at Liturgy, the reader does more than simply read. A reader's spirtuality must include an understanding of Holy Scripture as God's Living Word made present in the person of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh" (Richard R. Gaillardetz, Ph.D. Becoming Word for One Another: A Spirituality for Lectors. Ligouri Press. 2002).
Teens and adults are welcome to serve as lectors. Please contact Emily Robles to discuss further and to schedule trainings.
ALTAR SERVER:
The role of the altar server is to assist the Priests and Deacons with the Preparation of the Altar during the Sacred Liturgy.
Altar servers must be in the fourth grade or older and must have receive their First Eucharist. Please contact Emily Robles to schedule a training or for more information.
USHER:
The Ushers offer hospitality to the community as they enter into the celebration of the Mass. Ushers also assist with the collection during the Offertory and the flow of Holy Communion.
HEALTH CARE:
Health Care Ministers provide as-needed medical assistance and assessment to those gathered during Mass.
MINISTERS OF CARE:
The role of this minster is to bring Holy Eucharist to those who are homebound due to illness or other factors.
LINEN:
The Linen ministry assists in the preparation of supplies needed for the liturgy.
Responsibilities: 1) To wash, dry, iron and fold the linens used for Liturgy. 2) Pick up linens on the Monday of the scheduled week. 3) Return Linens by the Wednesday of the scheduled week.

ART & ENVIRONMENT:
The Art & Environment Ministry serves the community by creating a worship environment which draws them closer to Christ.
Responsibilities: 1) Assist in the preparation of decorations and structures. 2) Assist with the setup of environment for the liturgies. 3) Assist with the take down of the environments. 4) Work under the direction of the Director of Liturgy.
