First and foremost, I must give all GLORY and HONOR to my LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ.
Being in a relationship with Jesus has changed and enriched my life in many ways. The list is too long to put in words.
Therefore, I will share the three most significant changes and enrichments that are a result of being in a relationship with Jesus.
One, Jesus is teaching me to be obedient. The dictionary defines obedience as "Act of obeying, submission to authority." Something my mom used to say all the time was "Listen to me." As a recovering alcoholic, it is challenging to be obedient. But then I remember the Alcoholic Anonymous Creed "one drink is too many and a thousand drinks are never enough." The best way I can describe obedience is: doing the right thing when no one is watching.
Two, Jesus is teaching me to be humble. The dictionary defines humility as "of a low, unpretending character, lowly, modest, or meek." I learned I do not have to be the star of the show. I do not have to have the biggest house in the neighborhood. I do not have to have a fancy car to be loved by Jesus. It's a blessing I do not have to think this way today. When I keep my focus on being in a relationship with Jesus, it helps me get out of myself and serve the LORD.
Three, as a result of being in a relationship with Jesus, I have found peace in my life. This is something I had never experienced before in my life, or even knew existed. I have finally started to sleep better, and get good, cognitive sleep. My doctor said humans need cognitive sleep for body and brain to have optimum performance. By having peace in my life, getting a good night sleep, I have a positive attitude in life. And, equally important a grateful heart.
In summary, being in a relationship with Jesus Christ has changed and enriched my life. As long as I continue to be teachable, and do my part, I leave the results up to Jesus.
I cannot imagine living today without Jesus Christ in my life. Jesus LOVES me because the Bible tells me so.
God Bless,
Victor
